Who we work with

Powering people’s homes, building public roads, safely preparing the water people drink—at ACCIONA, the heart of what we do is develop partnerships in the communities which we do business. We build wind farms that bring jobs to Oklahoma, the Dakotas and Alberta, Canada, often enabling local landowners to harvest another resource - the wind - while still tending to the crops they’ve farmed for generations. We build roads that get drivers in Quebec to work faster and more safely, as well as create new local job opportunities. And, with a regional partner, we desalinate and clean water in Tampa Bay that will cover at least 10 percent of the drinking water needs for people in that region for many decades to come.

For ACCIONA, it all comes down to the people we work with.

Communities

While we like to hear “Welcome to the neighborhood!” when we start work in a new community, we also understand that the badge “good neighbor” must be earned. You’ll find ACCIONA playing an active role in improving the communities in which we develop, build and operate our businesses. We bring new jobs, new energy and new ideas. You’ll even find us sponsoring art shows at the local middle school or supporting the local high school team as they compete for a state championship.

Landowners

At ACCIONA, we build utility-scale renewable energy projects like wind farms and solar power plants in partnership with the owners of the land—whether they are owned by individuals, trusts or governments. Hand in hand, we believe the success of the project is based on the success of this key relationship. Ask Neil Kappas at Tatanka Wind Farm, and he’ll tell you: “ACCIONA is not just a company, it’s a partner—I can call them at anytime with any concern and they listen.”

Government

ACCIONA works with federal, state and local government agencies across the board to get the job done. And not just the job as it stands today—ACCIONA leads the collaborative effort to create new legislation and environmental guidelines that affect the future of the renewable energy industry. Nowhere is this more apparent than at our Red Hills Wind Farm, a site found by our own environmental specialist to be in the migratory path of the whooping crane. Always dedicated to the environment, we took our findings to the wildlife and environmental protection agencies in the region and worked together to establish new conservation measures for the development of wind farms, which supports the protection and recovery of this endangered bird.

Partners

We rely on strong partnerships across North America to identify areas of potential development in renewable energy, infrastructure and water treatment. We work with other companies that are dedicated to sustainability. Our infrastructure partners live up to our guidelines and building standards and we have forged strong relationships with local partners across the U.S. and Canada. Our energy partners include construction companies, transportation companies, equipment manufacturers and utility companies, all dedicated to building the highest-quality wind farm possible. And building water treatment plants is not a solo task, either—partnering with the most reliable, educated and experienced water company in the country, American Water Enterprises, helped us earn our Tampa Bay plant the Desalination Plant of the Year award in 2008.

Talk to us. Our projects are only as strong as the people we work with.  Let us know how we can work together.
