Our projects

Actions speak louder than words

ACCIONA is pioneering sustainable development across North America. Innovative infrastructure that is energy-efficient and built to last is in the works. So are water treatment projects that sustain communities. Renewable-energy technologies across the board—wind energy, solar energy and biomass—power homes, businesses and lives. By working with key partners, companies and communities, ACCIONA has developed some of the largest and most innovative sustainable projects in North America.

U.S. projects

With ACCIONA’s Nevada Solar One, we built the third-largest concentrating solar power (CSP) plant in the world and the first in 17 years. We are leading the world in the creation of wind energy and, in North and South Dakota, we recently dedicated the Tatanka Wind Farm, which has the capacity to power approximately 60,000 homes using ACCIONA wind turbines. Additionally, our desalination plant in Tampa Bay, Florida, supplies 10 percent of the city’s drinking water.

Canadian projects

ACCIONA is demonstrating energy efficiency, like the construction of the deep lake water cooling system, a technology that uses the deep, cold waters of Lake Ontario to cool buildings in downtown Toronto in the summertime. Our upcoming construction of the A-30 toll road, which will relieve vehicle congestion in Montreal’s most heavily traveled center, will create nearly 19,000 new jobs.
